Moving through my life, I was historically a person that put more time and energy into caring for the lives of those I loved more than my own.  Over time, I realized ignoring my own happiness and purpose was not sustainable, if I wanted to live a truly fulfilling life.  I had no idea what to do or change and I, therefore, remained in a task-oriented life.  Then, as many people find, the Universe has a great way of waking you up when you need it.  In my case, I found out I had breast cancer…twice.  My journey forward was challenging for a while, but also enlightening.  I found that facing mortality puts "problems" in perspective quickly.  After getting the all clear from my doctors, I realized that clearing myself of toxicity both physically and emotionally was paramount for me.  I decided, once and for all, I would live a life that would be joyful and purposeful for me and, therefore, joyful for those who I loved. 

I stopped being so concerned with what others perceived I should do and I started following my own inspirations instead.  I started to focus on prioritizing myself, and valuing my time.  I created an environment that was natural, fluent, joyful, full of laughter, music, fun, and as free of toxicity as I could.  Step by step I found my way.  There was nothing more important than creating balance and well-being.  My primary focus was creating a joyful life.  I found myself drawn to meditating, cleaning up toxins from my diet and environment, forgiving myself when things didn't go as planned, and being mindful of my thoughts and beliefs. I started appreciating all that I am and all that I have. I surrounded myself with like-minded people and focused on positivity. I started following my inspirations, believing in myself, breathing deeply (a lot, lol!), and allowing the good stuff in.  In a very short period of time, I found myself living a life of feeling good, well beyond what I had before.  I consistently felt full of love, peace, balance, joy, calming energy, and freedom of mind, because it came from within first.  Of course, there are still days that don't go as I had hoped, but because I stand on a stronger, internal foundation, I am better able to work through contrasting times. I trust that those times will teach me more about what I want and don’t want, and lead me to even better and stronger places.
